Once my kids were old enough, setting the table together became one of my favorite rituals. I love thinking back to those earlier times. Those simple, loving, learning moments. Having fun tools makes the job easy and interesting. A new decoration, seasonal treats, and Chalk Lots Placemats. When the kids are young, you can draw the utensils on the placemat as a way to learn exactly how to set a proper table. (It’s the matching game!) Then, when the kids are a little bit older, they love to be in charge of where everyone sits by writing names on the placemats. The most beautiful sentence? “I sit next to mommy!” Even to this day, I love to see where we are positioned for dinner.
